Application Specialist

As an Application Specialist, you will be working as part of dynamic team of EMS and IT professionals deploying software artefacts to live environments, delivering automation and support to development teams and automated tools to operational groups. Reporting to the Director, System Performance, a typical day in the life of a Build and Deploy Specialist involves actioning service requests, managing workloads, and maintaining project deadlines and goals. Maintain and build key relationships with development and operational teams and forge new automation tools and processes to deliver on client needs efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities Include
  • Develop and maintain team process and technical documentation.
  • Contribute to upkeep of system roadmaps for existing and new products.
  • Conduct workflow and security audits and ensure alignment of work to team goals and corporate strategic initiative.
  • Identify opportunities to implement general efficiencies and for automation of tasks and functions.
  • Perform operational duties such as source control and builds of new or existing code.
Professional Qualifications & Competencies
  • Related EMS field or equivalent work experience considered an asset.
  • Business analyst training or experience considered an asset.
  • Experience with SQL is considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of application configuration management, version control with EMS systems.
  • Strong technical aptitudes: able to plan, analyze, make decisions, and troubleshoot; shows attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable speaking in small groups in informal settings; able to present information on peers comfortably.
