Application Specialist

Please note we are open to candidates being based in either Toronto, Montreal, or Calgary.

Who We're Looking For

Rogers is seeking a talented Application Specialist to join our Media IT team. You will be responsible for the administration, support, and optimization of enterprise applications. This role partners closely with Media business stakeholders, IT, and vendors to ensure applications are reliable, secure, and aligned to business outcomes. You will advise our business partners on how best to leverage IT capabilities and identify opportunities to grow the business through innovative and effective use of technology. You’ll own day‑to‑day configuration, user support, change management, and continuous improvement across the application portfolio.

What You'll Do
  • Administration & Support – Own daily operations for assigned applications (incidents, service requests, user provisioning, access reviews, license management).
  • Provide L1/L2 support for software, including debugging and identifying root causes of application errors.
  • Monitoring & Reliability – Track availability, performance, and error rates; implement proactive monitoring and alerts.
  • Configuration & Maintenance – Configure platform settings, workflows, permissions/roles, integrations, and connectors; monitor jobs and logs.
  • Release & Change Management – Coordinate releases, regression testing, UAT, and deployment documentation. Maintain runbooks and SOPs.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management – Liaise with vendors for escalations and roadmap alignment; collaborate with business owners on requirements, prioritization, and adoption. Work with PM, Development Teams, BSA, Architect & other stakeholders to deliver projects successfully.
  • Security & Compliance – Enforce access controls, data protection standards, and audit readiness.
  • Continuous Improvement – Identify optimization opportunities, streamline workflows, and reduce manual effort through automation.
  • Knowledge & Training – Create and maintain knowledge articles; deliver training and tips to end users and super users.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years in Helpdesk, IT/Application Support or Administration role.
  • Experience across adjacent enterprise apps (e.g., M365, SNOW, Jira).
  • Basic proficiency in Linux/Unix, Windows Server, and monitoring tools.
  • Basic SQL/Excel proficiency for data work; familiarity with JSON/CSV and ETL tooling.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving, and customer service skills.
  • Solid understanding of access control, audit, and data protection practices.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
  • Salesforce experience is a plus.
