A leading finance technology firm based in Toronto is seeking a Consumer Consultant to provide business, analytical, and product expertise in the Auto Lending sector. In this role, you'll design consumer data and risk analytics solutions while acting as a trusted advisor for clients. The ideal candidate has over 10 years of experience in auto lending and a strong mastery of risk management strategies. This full-time position involves engaging with C-suite executives to drive revenue growth and enhance strategic market approaches.
The Consumer Consultant provides specialized business, analytical, and product expertise to drive revenue growth within the strategic primarily Auto Lending Vertical (Dealerships, OEM Captives, Banks/Credit Unions). This role is a strategic, revenue-focused function responsible for designing and delivering consumer data, risk analytics, and technology solutions to the client’s satisfaction. This consultant acts as a trusted leader and Subject Matter Expert, translating complex Auto industry challenges (e.g., portfolio risk, digital lending strategies, compliance) into quantifiable opportunities for Equifax, with a direct focus on leading the vertical's strategic approach and accelerating sales velocity.
Vertical Leadership & Strategy: Serve as the internal and external single point of accountability for the Auto Vertical. This includes identifying market opportunities, defining the go-to-market strategy, and aligning internal resources (Product, Analytics) to maximize penetration within the auto lending ecosystem.
Advanced Analytical Consulting: Applies in-depth knowledge of consumer credit risk modeling, behavioral scoring, and portfolio optimization specifically within auto lending to design and deliver highly impactful custom solutions.
Sales Enablement & Strategic Engagement: Acts as the primary SME, supporting sales teams by deeply understanding lender risk requirements and positioning optimal, value-driven solutions across the auto lending lifecycle (origination, account management, collections).
Solution Design & ROI Justification: Translates complex analytical problems into actionable solutions, designing strategic implementation plans, and developing compelling ROI business cases that accelerate executive decision‑making within financial institutions and captive finance arms.
Brand Stewardship: Represents Equifax as a thought leader at auto finance industry forums, conferences, and webinars, ensuring a consistent, high‑impact brand message.
Auto Lending/Finance (10+ Years): Mandatory experience leading risk management, credit strategy, or data/analytics functions at a major Auto Captive Finance company, large bank auto lending division, or a specialized Auto‑focused FinTech.
Consumer Credit Risk Mastery: Proven background in consumer credit risk strategies, including application scoring, loss forecasting, pricing models, and compliance (e.g., regulatory reporting).
Consultative Pre‑Sales Experience: Demonstrated success supporting complex B2C sales cycles, translating deep analytical insights into clear business value for executive clients.
Executive Presence and Persuasion: Exceptional ability to engage and influence C‑suite and executive‑level risk and analytics stakeholders in the auto finance space.
Strategic Problem Solver: Must excel at identifying core business problems in the auto industry (e.g., optimizing digital funnels, managing balloon payment risk) and creatively mapping them to our solutions.
Data & Analytical Fluency: Ability to discuss sophisticated data structures, modeling techniques, and attribute development with client analytical teams.
Communication & Presentation: Highly persuasive communication and presentation skills, capable of delivering strategic, data‑driven narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.
Bachelor's Degree in a highly quantitative or technical field (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Economics).
A Master's Degree or advanced professional certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA, PMP) is highly valued.
