Qualifications

Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal‑management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative‑energy powertrains. Serving three primary markets – passenger vehicle, commercial truck, and off‑highway equipment – Dana provides the world’s original‑equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop new and innovative manufacturing processes for the next generation of thermal products, that will lead to improved safety, quality and overall business performance.
  • Improve upon existing manufacturing processes, bringing them towards the ideal state, through rapid prototype, designed experiments and confirmation trials.
  • Assemble prototype and production quotations for required tooling and equipment to support cost model preparation and program launch activities.
  • Quickly diagnose and determine causal explanation for defects and failures occurring in prototype and early production builds.
  • Develop and maintain machine and tooling standards.
  • Candidate will work closely with our suppliers to ensure safety, quality and capability of tooling and equipment and will be responsible for final equipment and tooling buy‑off.
  • Act as a technical resource and support to all Thermal Products manufacturing plants.
Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or diploma in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering technology.
  • Relevant experience in manufacturing, preferably in a high volume production environment.
  • Knowledgeable with the principles of quality management (TS16949), APQP, continuous improvement and the Toyota Production System.
  • Experience or a demonstrated aptitude in stamping, light assembly, brazing and inspection.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with knowledge about convergent problem‑solving methodologies preferred. Experience with Shainin Red X or The New Science of Fixing Things an asset.
  • Strong Team Player with excellent communications skills.
  • Ability to use MSProject/AutoCAD /Excel/Word/PowerPoint.
  • Legal ability to travel, primarily in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
