Wage range or Salary:

$23.28 - $29.10 per hour, commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy.

Status:

Permanent Full-time

Position Overview:

The Administrative Assistant II provides administrative support to the Program Services Manager and unit teams, exercising judgment and independence. Responsibilities include effective communication with clients and stakeholders, staffing coordination, scheduling patient appointments and transportation, payroll processing, expense monitoring, data entry, report preparation, and maintaining confidential files. The role also involves organizing meetings, recording minutes, and ensuring compliance with patient safety policies.

Key Duties:
  • Communicating effectively with patients, families, staff, and external care providers
  • Answering phones and responding to inquiries
  • Preparing nursing schedules and coordinating staffing
  • Admitting, transferring, and discharging patients in the Electronic Patient Record
  • Inputting preadmission data and managing patient charts
Qualifications:
  • Completion of Grade XII or recognized equivalent
  • Post-secondary secretarial arts diploma
  • At least 3 years of relevant administrative experience
  • Proficiency in computer, database, and spreadsheet software; experience with Microsoft Office preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and manage priorities
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of healthcare practices and medical terminology an asset
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use good judgment
