Senior Database Administrator – Responsibilities
- Manage, optimize, and support Oracle, MS SQL (Windows), MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases on different platforms.
- Implement Data Guard, compression, partitioning, GoldenGate, RAC, ASM, TDE, and rapid deployments.
- Collaborate on solutions, integrating Oracle OCI cloud capabilities.
- Provide on-call support for database availability and stability.
- Apply ITIL principles for efficient incident and change management.
- Develop scripts (bash, Python) for operational efficiency.
- Perform data modeling, integration, mapping, and capacity planning.
- Troubleshoot complex issues with analytical precision.
- Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- Utilize Oracle WebLogic, OAS OBIP, Oracle Cloud Control, and Zabbix for integrated solutions.
- Enhance database system capabilities based on experience.
- Deliver customer-centric interactions and solutions.
- Demonstrate outstanding problem-solving skills, leadership qualities, and autonomous teamwork.
- Adapt to evolving priorities and manage emergencies.
Qualifications – Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 8–10 years of experience in database design and administration – Oracle, MS SQL (Windows), MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
- Expertise in Data Guard, compression, GoldenGate, ASM, TDE, and related technologies.
- Expertise in Oracle appliances (Exadata, ODA) and Oracle OCI cloud systems.
- Experience in on-call support with a commitment to availability and reliability.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (bash, Python) for automation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of ITIL principles.
- Excellent communication skills in French and English (working with industries in Canada, the U.S., and abroad).
- Customer service-oriented mindset.
- Adaptability to changing project needs.
