Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Reporting Accounting Manager with a forward-thinking mindset to oversee our company’s financial reporting processes and ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the preparation, analysis, and presentation of financial statements, as well as manage internal and external audit processes.
- HYBRID WORK ENVIRONMENT: Vancouver-based and Toronto-based team members work in-office every other week (Tues–Thurs). Core attendance is required from 9 AM – 3 PM on these days to support business priorities.
- A DAY IN THE LIFE
- Oversee the preparation and timely delivery of accurate consolidated and/or non-consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP / ASPE.
- Lead the coordination of external audits, ensuring timely and complete responses to auditor inquiries.
- Manage month-end close processes and assist with preparation as needed.
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and variance analyses prepared by the accounting team.
- Analyze month-end financial results and facilitate monthly meetings to discuss performance, supporting management decision-making.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure effective internal controls and reliable financial statements.
- Collaborate with internal departments to gather information for establishing workflows and reporting requirements.
- Identify and implement AI-driven and automation opportunities across accounting processes.
- Stay updated with changes in accounting standards and provide training and mentorship to the accounting team as needed.
- Assist in the implementation of new financial tools and platforms as required.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- Bachelor’s degree with CPA designation.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting, including 1-3 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP / IFRS, and ASPE financial reporting standards, and internal control frameworks.
- Demonstrated interest in digital transformation, automation, or finance tech innovation.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in public practice is preferred.
- Proficiency in Netsuite ERP system, advanced Excel skills, and exposure to Power BI, Tableau, or AI automation tools (e.g., UiPath, Power Automate) is an asset.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Salary $90,000 - $105,000 per annum (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience, and internal parity).
