Overview

Three Stone Homes is looking for an accounting professional with a minimum of 2 years of experience to include payables and receivables, taxes, bank deposits, journal entries and reconciliations just to name a few. If you have an eye for detail and have the drive to learn and grow, this might be the perfect position for you!

Our Accounting Assistant will start out in the range of $22.00 to $25.00 per hour depending on skills and experience plus the potential for quarterly incentives! The hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, providing front desk coverage for lunches and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Mondays to cover the front desk for the day.

Accounting Assistant

Job Summary:

The Accounting Assistant will prepare financial reports to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss and tax liabilities as well as perform assigned duties within the accounting department such as accounts payable and receivable, in support of the finance team’s commitment to transparent and efficient transactions.

Classification

Pay range $22.00 to $25.00 per hour plus the potential for quarterly incentives

Supervisory Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Enter financial transactions into applicable database
  • Keep assets and personal property list current
  • Keep trade-ins and the paperwork associated with those current
  • Enter and track 1099 vendors
  • Issue invoices to customers and external partners such as lenders
  • Keep up on purchase order tracking, scanning the information into Rent Manager and Quickbooks
  • Assist in the quarterly and annual audit process
  • Create and update excel spreadsheets, ensuring accuracy
  • Assist in the preparation of commission worksheets to include gathering the paperwork needed to figure the commissions and tracking what needs to be paid out
  • Prepare bank deposits including posting cash to Rent Manager and any other required database
  • Filing and creating new files
  • Accounts payable to include coding and entering invoices and processing payments
  • Reconciling statements and invoices to include identifying and resolving any discrepancies
  • Track amounts owed for jobs and process draws to financial institutions or individuals
  • Assist in the year-end process including purging and creating files
  • Keep current list of Service Agreements, Frames and Spiffs which entails reimbursements
  • Prepare monthly sales tax and lot inventory sheets
  • Prepare all paperwork and back-up information for houses to pend
  • Provides front desk coverage when needed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
  • Previous experience as an Accounting Assistant, Accounting Clerk, or similar role in the finance or accounting field, required
  • Experience with MS Excel, required
  • Experience with accounting software, required; Quickbooks preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years accounting experience to include journal entries, required
  • A minimum of 2 years of accounts payable and receivable experience, required
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Must be able to work cooperatively and patiently with a variety of personalities
  • Must dependable and able to meet scheduling requirements and deadlines

Supervision

The Accounting Assistant is supervised by the Accounting/Office Manager.
