What will you be doing
  • Processing Vendor Invoices: Validating and processing supplier invoices to ensure alignment with the terms and conditions of assigned purchase orders, while complying with ethical business practices and CNL policies and procedures.
  • Validating purchase order/contract terms and their alignment with supplier invoices.
  • Establishing and maintaining business documents to support accounts payable transactions.
  • Ensuring invoice integrity for control and audit processes, in compliance with company policies.
  • Interacting with Cash and Banking for processing wire payments, prepayments, and foreign currency payments.
  • Providing Vendor Support Related to Payables: Performing financial analysis, including preparing ad hoc reports for customers, contract administration, and procurement.
  • Responding to specific account queries and providing insight and documentation as required.
  • Providing analytical troubleshooting support, conducting investigations, and offering consultation.
  • Liaising with internal and external customers to resolve issues and disputes related to outstanding payments.
  • Resolving obstacles with procurement and contract administration to enable timely payments.
  • Analyzing the On-Hold report and supplier account statements to ensure timely invoice payments.
  • Serving as a single point of contact to support suppliers and requisitioners by facilitating timely invoice processing and problem resolution.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for
  • Education
    • Completed post-secondary education in a related field, such as commerce, finance, economics, accounting, or business administration.
  • Experience
    • 4 years’ experience in Accounts Payable or business administration.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to think independently
    • Oral and written communication skills to relay information during one-on-one sessions, to interpret existing procedures to customers and coworkers.
    • Strong interpersonal, organizational, problem resolution and analytical skills.
    • Tact and courtesy in dealing with internal customers.
    • Collaboration and teamwork skills to maintain a healthy work environment.
    • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision and establish own priorities to meet deadlines.
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office to be able to create spreadsheets, write emails, etc.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
    • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's Standard on Security Screening and the Policy on Government Security.
Working Conditions
  • Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.
  • This position is part of the USW4096 Union and is governed by the terms and conditions outlined in the USW4096 Collective Agreement. As a member of this bargaining unit, you’ll benefit from clear expectations around hours of work, wages, vacation, and other conditions that support a fair and consistent working environment.

Location and remote work

Location: Fully Remote

This position is offered on a fully remote basis, allowing you to work from home anywhere in Canada. You’ll collaborate virtually with a dynamic team across CNL sites, helping to advance Canada’s clean energy and environmental goals from your home office.
