New College opened in 1962 and has since developed its own traditions and identity, focusing on personal attention to students, innovative interdisciplinary programs, career mentorship and community outreach initiatives. Within our friendly and informal environment, we place a high priority on student support services and we have built a rich and inclusive learning community that includes academic support, amenities for studying and social interaction, and opportunities for co‑curricular and community engagement. The Academic Advisor is a critical member of the team in the Registrar's Office and takes the lead in developing and delivering group sessions around support for scholarship applications and financial aid opportunities. The Academic Advisor promotes a welcoming environment in the College for students from diverse backgrounds and serves as the primary support for the Registrar’s Office Awards and Scholarship programs.
