Job Purpose:
The Maintenance Electrician will maintain all equipment to required plant standards and be responsive to line calls, and equipment failures. They will also routinely perform work independently and must be able to work in an environment with many distractions while maintaining a high level of accuracy in performing their duties.

Key Job Functions / Roles / Responsibilities:
- This position will support the Afternoon shift. Hours of work are from 3:00 PM –11:30 PM, Monday – Friday.
- Provides support in troubleshooting / repairs and system improvements (optimization) to ensure quality and efficiency
- Establish and follow-up project implementation, including timing, concept, feasibility design, specifications, construction and commissioning, as required
- Provides support in testing, repairing, calibrating electric or electronic components
- Maintains and upgrades PLC software; assist in training Team Members on electric equipment as required
- Analyze, records, charts and all documentation required for maintenance records, projects and departments
- Prepares drawing material specifications to requisitions required by vendors or other departments
- Develops controls drawings and design concepts
- Deals with various vendors; both supplier and equipment suppliers
- Responds to all maintenance requirements within the department
- Participate in ongoing cross-training, multi-skilling activities within the organization
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency in achieving results
- Ensures that all operator safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications and installations
- Knows and understands process documentation and customer specific requirements, as they relate to this job function
- Follows and complies with all Operational Procedures and Policies

Qualifications:
- Ontario Certificate of Qualification in Electrical or an equivalent diploma/degree in electrical controls, as required
- Candidates will have a Certificate of Apprenticeship or possess a recognized equivalent (testing may be required)
- Proof of CSA Z462 Arc Flash Certification training required
- Minimum of two (2) years demonstrated and verifiable experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Working Knowledge (oral/written) of both English and Mathematics
- Working knowledge of Safety Standards of Equipment
- PLC Programming and troubleshooting experience; Allen Bradley
- Ability to work in various locations within and outside the plant
- Good attention to detail, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work to deadlines and multiple demands
- Ability to uphold confidentiality
- Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to work overtime to meet customer needs
- Ability to work independently and without supervision
