Applications are now being accepted for the full-time permanent TVE Instructor in the program of Welding.

Technical Vocational Education (TVE) provides students with the skills and competencies needed to successfully transition into the workplace, apprenticeship opportunities, post-secondary education, and their daily lives. It also allows students to explore, sample, specialize, and transition into a designated or non-designated trade or occupation. This pathway provides students with the foundation to enter the world of work or continue in further post-secondary education. Students who complete the cluster of courses in a designated stream may be eligible for the Senior Years Technology Education Program Diploma and/or advanced standing in a post-secondary program.

Certification & Qualifications
  • Permanent Technical-Vocational Teaching Certificate (as per Manitoba Regulation 115/2015).
  • Technical-Vocational Teacher Education Diploma (90 credit hours; 45 in professional coursework; 18 weeks student teaching).
  • Journeyperson certification in Welding or equivalent industry-specific certification.
  • At least six years of approved welding work experience, including two years under the supervision of an industry-certified journeyperson.
  • A temporary teaching certificate may be applied for while completing the required diploma program. More infomation here.
