Job Description

Hood Packaging Corp is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Mechanic to join our maintenance team. You will play a key role in ensuring the proper functioning of our equipment and the smooth continuity of our production operations.

Work schedule: Continental non-rotating 12 hour shift

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond quickly and effectively to mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic breakdowns to minimize downtime
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as per the schedule in the EAM system and complete all work orders using a computer
  • Install, modify, or optimize industrial equipment based on operational needs
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of existing systems
  • Keep technical documentation up to date (work orders, drawings, procedures, etc.)
  • Be available for on-call service and respond outside of regular hours if necessary
  • Strictly follow safety rules and quality/food safety policies (SQF standards)
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Job Requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and pneumatic plans (standard and ISO)
  • Knowledge of SQF, HACCP, lockout/tagout, and ARC FLASH standards
  • Proficiency in French (spoken and written) is required; English is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills, sense of priorities, autonomy, precision, and teamwork
  • Familiarity with MS Office and maintenance software (asset)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
  • Millwright Certificate
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience in automation / robotics (asset)
