We're Hiring : Head of Engineering (Hands-On, AI-First) Remote – U.S., Central or South America – Full-Time
LeadSnap is looking for a Head of Engineering who can take ownership of execution, enforce high technical standards, and lead a development team that ships fast, clean, and consistently.
This is a hands‑on leadership role — not a visionary CTO position.
You will architect systems, write code when needed, run sprints, enforce code quality, hold developers accountable and rebuild engineering culture around AI‑driven development.

Execution, Delivery, and Accountability – Own the end‑to‑end delivery of the engineering roadmap, run standups, sprint planning, QA flow, and release cycles, ensure deadlines are met, identify blockers early and remove them fast, set expectations and hold the team accountable.
Architecture + Technical Leadership – Review architecture, propose improvements, refactor unstable areas, plan and implement a shift toward microservice‑based components, maintain high performance, scalability, and reliability, guide decisions on tech stack evolution.
Hands‑On Engineering – Review code at a senior level, write production‑quality code when needed, lead by example with clean, maintainable, tested code and translate feature requirements into clear technical plans.
AI‑Driven Development Culture – Build an AI‑first engineering workflow, require every developer to use AI coding tools daily, replace developers who cannot adapt to AI‑driven velocity, implement AI‑based code review, test generation, and refactoring tools.
Team Leadership + Hiring – Evaluate current team performance and upgrade where needed, build a stronger, faster engineering team, lead hiring (founder participates in culture interviews and final approvals), set standards, define expectations, and rebuild engineering culture.
7+ years building and delivering complex SaaS systems; senior‑level experience with PHP, Node.js, React, TypeScript, MySQL; strong architectural judgment in monoliths and microservices; experience leading engineering teams that ship predictably; high‑level code review skills; ability to write code when needed and guide others; real‑world experience using AI tools in daily engineering; strong communication skills (direct, clear, concise); high accountability and willingness to push pace and standards; comfort working in a fast‑moving environment where results matter.
Direct communicator; doesn’t tolerate slow execution; brings order to chaos; pushes developers to improve; calm under pressure but not passive; hands‑on leader who codes when needed; obsessed with hitting deadlines and improving velocity; comfortable making decisions and owning outcomes; prefers action over discussion; can enforce standards and replace low‑performers without drama. This role requires someone who drives change – not someone who waits for direction.
Languages & Frameworks: PHP, Node.js, React, TypeScript, Laravel, Next.js; Infrastructure: AWS, Docker, Redis, Cloudflare; Databases: MySQL (primary), Redis, MongoDB; DevOps: GitHub, GitLab, CI / CD pipelines, automated testing; AI Tools: GitHub Copilot, OpenAI API, agent‑based tooling; Platforms: ClickUp, Slack, Figma, Postman.
Role: Head of Engineering (Hands‑On); Compensation: $8,000–$10,000 / month depending on experience; Location: Remote — Central / South America preferred; Hours: ~40 / week with at least 4+ hours overlap with EST; Reporting To: Founder; Language: Fluent English; Bonuses: Performance‑based incentives tied to delivery and velocity. This is not a CTO role.
