A leading IT services provider is seeking a Senior SAP ABAP Developer for a fully remote, long-term contract (12+ months). The ideal candidate will design and develop ABAP solutions within a highly customized SAP ECC 6.0 environment. Key responsibilities include collaborating with functional teams, providing enhancements, and supporting system integrations. Strong experience in SAP ABAP and integration projects is required. Candidates must be comfortable working without immediate S/4HANA exposure.

GlobalSource IT is working with a direct client that is seeking a Senior SAP ABAP Developer to join their team. This role is open due to the recent retirement of a long-tenured ABAP developer, and the client is looking to bring on an experienced contractor to help support and enhance their SAP environment.

This is a fully remote, long-term contract (12+ months) supporting a highly customized SAP ECC 6.0 landscape. The successful candidate must be comfortable remaining in ECC for the foreseeable future, as the client is not yet moving to S/4HANA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and support ABAP solutions within a highly customized ECC 6.0 environment
• Provide procurement-related ABAP development and enhancements
• Support system integrations, including inbound and outbound interfaces
• Perform bug fixes, minor enhancements, table updates, and occasional production support
• Collaborate with functional teams and external vendors during upcoming integration efforts
• Adapt to changing priorities and take ownership of assigned work with minimal oversight

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong, well-rounded SAP ABAP development experience in ECC 6.0
• Integration experience (Coupa integration strongly preferred)
• Solid experience with IDOCs and EDI
• Working knowledge of SmartForms and SAPScript
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, highly customized environment
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work CST business hours

Upcoming Projects:

• Major global Coupa implementation planned later this year
• Coupa will replace Ariba globally, beginning in North America
• Prior to Coupa ramp-up, work will focus on:
• Bug fixes
• Table updates
• Occasional production support

Additional Requirements:

• Must be comfortable working in SAP ECC for 12–18+ months without immediate S/4HANA exposure
• Adaptable, autonomous, and able to “wear multiple hats” in a lean team environment
