About the Role

Senior Software QA Engineer
Location : Brazil
Fully Remote
Reports To : Head of QA / Engineering Manager
Setup : Consultancy / PJ
Must Have : English Resume and Professional level of English Communication Skills

Key Responsibilities

• Test Planning & Execution – Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand requirements, acceptance criteria, and potential risks.
• Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases covering functional, regression, integration, and performance scenarios.
• Perform manual testing for exploratory, usability, and edge‑case scenarios.
• Test Automation – Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites (UI, API, and regression).
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality feedback.
• Monitor and maintain test results, ensuring failures are triaged quickly.
• Defect Tracking & Reporting – Log, prioritize, and track defects using issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure Linear).
• Partner with developers to reproduce, debug, and verify fixes.
• Provide clear reporting on test coverage, pass/fail rates, and quality trends.
• Quality Advocacy – Participate in design reviews, backlog grooming, and sprint planning to identify potential issues early.
• Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and prevent defects.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer, Software Tester, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in writing automated tests using frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
• Experience testing APIs using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar.
• Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies (Scrum / Kanban).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI).
• Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
