In this role, you will create a meaningful impact and protect patents and trademarks.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with attorneys, liaisons, foreign associates and staff to ensure efficient workflow.
• Extract pertinent intellectual property (IP) information from official databases and correspondence.
• Generate docket reports, perform IP docketing and track deadlines.
• Assist attorneys with patent filing by resolving discrepancies, errors and omissions.
• Maintain IP records and review files.
• Perform IP research on public and private databases.
• Process incoming and outgoing correspondence.

Qualifications / Experience

• 10+ years of patent writing experience or equivalent in a private practice (IP law firms).
• Law or engineering degree is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, interpersonal skills, time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence to communicate with stakeholders.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

• Patent prosecution (advising clients on the patent process, responding to examination reports).
