Overview

Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first. ESS Business Intelligence is an Enterprise Shared Services team focused on data, reporting and data science supporting Humana’s Service Operations. The team converts data to actionable insights for business partners to reduce administrative cost and improve the customer experience. This position will work within the ESS Business Intelligence team which gathers and documents data requirements for Data Science, Data Consulting, Data Visualization and Reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Acquire, clean and develop datasets from internal and external sources to support business analysis and reporting.
  • Acquire, validate, store, protect, and ensure accessibility, reliability, and timeliness of data for users.
  • Develop and execute data architectures, policies, practices and procedures that manage the full data lifecycle for an enterprise.
  • Prepare data for reporting and analysis including visualizations to support business requirements.
  • Perform in-depth data analysis to derive insights that drive business outcomes and decisions.
  • Interact with business and IT departments to understand user needs and translate business needs into technical data requirements.
  • Coordinate with other teams to address all aspects of data needs; manage projects to on-time and within-scope completion.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and present progress to clients as needed.
  • Be an innovative thinker with curiosity around data and maintain confidentiality while working independently.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of data management experience
  • 5+ years of technical experience in data analysis using ETL tools and developing ETL packages using SSIS
  • Extensive experience developing stored procedures and dynamic SQL
  • Experience making complex data accessible and usable for leaders to derive insights
  • Experience through full project life cycle: design, coding, code review and deployment
  • Proficient in root cause analysis
  • Be a liaison between IT and business; problem-solving and solution-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work with clients, listen to needs and suggest potential solutions
  • Good presentation skills to conduct demonstrations and show project progress
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • Healthcare or managed care experience
  • Experience with cloud data migration and cloud computing (MS Azure), programming languages (VB.NET, C#, JavaScript, Python, R), SAS, SPSS, QlikView, Hadoop, and/or SQL
  • Call Center experience or Genesys platform experience is a plus
Work-At-Home Requirements
  • Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors in California may be provided payment for internet expenses.
  • Minimum standard speed: 25x10 Mbps (download x upload) for optimal performance.
  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is not allowed for this role.
  • A dedicated space free from interruptions to protect PHI/HIPAA information

Pay Range

$97,900 - $133,500 per year. This ranges reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time employment and may vary by location, skills, experience, and certifications. Eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
