Collaborate directly with Consulting Partners and Managers, as well as colleagues in Consulting Support Service departments, to ensure an effective management of the full revenue cycle, delivering timely and zero-defect invoicing and collections, while also maintaining billing and contract details updated into the SAP system to provide efficient, high-quality, and accurate management reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Prepare timely client invoicing and proactively manage collections, unbilled items, overdue invoices, and client expense balances with partners, managers, and clients.
- Maintain the SAP system manually updated and reconciled daily with both invoices issued or canceled in the city hall platform and collections identified in bank statements.
- Determine invoice amounts based on partner discussions, revenue forecasts, Human Capital System (HCS) staffing levels, expenses incurred, and client contracts.
- Request additional details, approvals, or reviews when needed, escalating to the appropriate levels.
- Identify potential bottlenecks in the billing process and provide solutions with clear communication and a collaborative, client-oriented approach.
- Manage the AR and Revenue month-end closing process by confirming AR close in the SAP and REV systems and reviewing AR outstanding balances, both billed and unbilled, for DSO control purposes.
- Collect and maintain case reference information by reviewing proposals, surveying VPs, and maintaining the Case and Client Management System (CCM) with essential reference information for each case.
- Set up new case codes and communicate them to the case manager and others based on established procedures.
- Review and track client contracts, ensuring timely issuance and compliance.
- Obtain industry and conflict data, coordinate with the Legal department, and update the REV system for details, including the upload of scanned contracts.
- Plan work and communications to maintain, analyze, and report on the client development pipeline as well as the revenue forecast and actuals.
- Prepare and support additional analyses, including year-end audit and tax schedules, DSO reports, AR monthly or year-end reconciliations, and ad hoc revenue analysis or presentations.
- Utilize quantitative skills, problem-solving abilities, and tools like Excel and PowerPoint to develop innovative analyses and communicate insights.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with billing and collections processes in professional services companies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and an enthusiastic team player.
- Ability to work independently with senior-level management.
- A bachelor's degree, preferably in finance-related areas such as Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics (other degrees accepted depending on past experience with the billing process).
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and financial systems.
- Ability to handle highly confidential information in a professional and mature manner.
