A leading technology company in São Paulo is seeking an experienced R&D Machinist to manufacture prototypes and small-batch parts. You will collaborate with engineering teams to ensure quality and efficiency in product development, while engaging in hands-on processes including welding and assembly. Ideal candidates have a mechanical technician degree and 3+ years of experience in machining.
The Manufacturing Engineering Team is the cornerstone of transforming innovation into reality. Made up of skilled professionals with diverse expertise, the team is dedicated to converting designs into high-quality, functional products. Committed to continuous improvement, we collaborate across multiple departments to ensure efficient processes, enhance R&D capabilities, and work closely with production and design teams to optimize schedules and deliveries.
Among the core processes that support our daily operations, machining plays a critical role - enabling everything from rapid prototyping to low-volume production runs. This versatility positions machining as a strategic area for continuous optimization, both internally and in collaboration with our manufacturing partners.
Moreover, machining is also essential to the success of injection molding, as it is the primary method used to manufacture high-precision tooling. As a result, the evolution of both processes is naturally interconnected - and their simultaneous development will be key to expanding Tractian’s industrial capabilities and accelerating innovation across our product lines.
As an R&D Machinist, you will play a key role in the manufacture of prototypes and small-batch production of parts associated with the development of new products. During the early stages of development, the engineering team may not always have full visibility into every variable of the process — that’s where your collaboration becomes essential. You will work closely with the team to assess project feasibility, understand technical requirements, and deliver high-quality prototypes as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Your responsibilities will go far beyond machining. You’ll also be expected to engage in a variety of hands-on processes, including welding, component assembly, fixture design, and the ongoing enhancement of both laboratory capabilities and internal workflows. In addition to supporting prototype production, your technical feedback will be vital for improving part designs and increasing the overall quality and reliability of our manufacturing processes. As part of your role, you’ll be expected to modify, assemble, and disassemble injection molds, and continuously contribute to the evolution of the lab - bringing forward new ideas, methods, and improvements that directly support our mission of delivering exceptional IoT solutions to industries around the world.
