Overview

Join the new Vestas Blades Process Engineering organization. This organization is characterized as a co-located & process engineering team focused on developing and supporting the rest of the organization with subject matter experts (SMEs). An organization that embeds engineering expertise directly into the manufacturing value stream and enables faster decision-making and deeper process ownership and Knowledge. It all builds on a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability.

The department is a Process driven business model with the following departments: Layup, Infusion, Bonding, Handling & Logistics, Finish & Paint, Root Systems and a central based function within Technical Integration. The Process teams are distributed around our Manufacturing sites. The New Blades Process Engineering VP reports to the SVP of Blades Manufacturing.

Responsibilities
  • Design and optimizing production processes, within Root System operations including analysis of AS IS and future state, developing Process requirements and specifications and supporting manufacturing sites with Process Industrialization and standardization
  • Facilitate and support Process Optimization in the manufacturing sites
  • Be part of building a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability
  • Use digital tools like digital twins and data analytics to improve performance and make data-driven decisions
  • Investigating and solving production issues using structured methods such as the 5x Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and FMEA
  • Applying continuous improvement principles using quality tools like Statistical Process Control (SPC), Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and ensure final product quality
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • GB Six Sigma of Advance Manufacturing Process Analysis
  • 7+ years experience working with Mass Production Products Manufacturing Processes
  • Manufacturing process specification
  • Experience with Process Requirements formulation and Process flow creation and data process analyses at a high level
  • Composite Materials Knowledge, understanding of fiberglass, carbon fiber, epoxy resins, and other materials used in production
  • Driven optimization and standardization within manufacturing processes (Mass production) with use of the toolbox also mentioned above
  • A blend of technical, analytical, and operational competencies tailored to composite materials, precision manufacturing, and continuous improvement
  • You are interested and willing to spend time in the factory environment as required to understand and solve problems
  • You are self-motivated; result-oriented and possess great organizational discipline
  • You find it exciting and interesting to work with other people in a large organization and can build up an intensive network across cultures and time zones and work with stakeholders
  • You can be an engaged part of cross functional product development projects
  • You are customer-oriented and can understand the complete business value chain seen from a customer perspective
