Policy Communications Manager, Brazil Responsibilities :
- Manage communications activities on relevant integrity topics
- Manage the company's response to high profile issues in Brazil, including media strategy and message development, and internal escalation and reporting requirements
- Proactively and confidently brief press, opinion leaders and stakeholders on Facebook's approach and investments to protect the integrity of its platforms
- Counsel cross-functional partners in policy, legal and other groups within the company on a broad set of communications matters ranging from media engagement strategy to crisis management
- Distil complex policy concepts into plain language for press, policymakers, and the general public through a wide range of written material like blog posts, Q&A, briefing materials and talking points
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Politics, Social Sciences, Journalism or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Strong writing and story-telling skills in English
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, pressurized, dynamic and deadline‑driven environment, with excellent judgment and negotiation skills
- Autonomy to work with different teams and drive complex conversations
Outstanding Portuguese verbal and written communications skills
Preferred Qualifications :
- Ability to balance multiple competing priorities, with flexibility to pivot / reprioritize quickly as needs arise
- Team player with strong leadership, project management, time management and collaboration skills
- A self‑starter with the ability to proactively come up with new ideas, build plans and successfully execute them in partnership with other communications teams and partners
- Experience in public affairs or media industry
