About The Role
Mix‑media Video Editor (Video + Motion)

We are hiring a video editor who can own end-to-end content delivery across short‑form video, mixed media and motion‑driven social assets.

This is a dedicated in‑house role within our Marketing Team; you will focus exclusively on producing content for Darkroom's own brand channels to showcase our agency's expertise.

This role is built for someone who lives in modern social feeds, understands what earns attention today, and can turn a simple script, reference, or raw footage into a finished piece that performs.

Short‑form and social‑first editing will be your core work, with occasional longer edits as needed.

The focus will be on delivering high‑volume, high‑quality short‑form content, performance‑minded cutdowns, and motion‑enhanced storytelling.

You will also help define how Darkroom shows up across platforms through consistent, high‑quality video output.

This is a fully remote role supporting a team in the EST zone.

Candidates based in Portugal, Spain, and Brazil are encouraged to apply.

What You Will Do
  • Short‑form and social‑first editing : Edit and produce high‑volume, high‑quality short‑form content for Darkroom across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, and X.
  • Build "thumb‑stopping" edits that land quickly, hold attention, and deliver one clear takeaway.
  • Pull the strongest moments from raw footage, podcasts, webinars, events and internal shoots, then shape them into tight narratives.
  • Create platform‑specific versions of the same concept, including aspect ratio variations and multiple hooks for testing.
  • Deliver A and B variants to support creative learning and performance optimization.
  • Mixed media and motion design : Design and animate motion elements that elevate social edits, including kinetic typography, graphic transitions, and lightweight compositing.
  • Build mixed media layouts that combine video, stills, screen recordings, overlays, and design assets into one cohesive piece.
  • Develop reusable motion templates that speed up production without sacrificing quality.
  • Maintain strong design taste so motion and visuals align with Darkroom branding.
  • End‑to‑end ownership : Take a reference, script, brief, or rough direction and run with it independently.
  • Manage projects from first cut to final export, including file organization and archiving for future reuse.
  • Collaborate with marketing, strategy, and creative leadership, while staying comfortable making calls when direction is loose.
  • Anticipate bottlenecks and propose clear solutions before they become problems.

  • Social and performance awareness : Stay close to what is working on social right now, including trends, pacing, formats, and editing language.
  • Make creative decisions with performance and aesthetics in mind.
  • Use basic performance signals to inform how you cut, structure and hook content over time.
  • AI and workflow acceleration : Keep up with emerging tools that can speed up production, like transcription, captioning, audio cleanup, and smart cutdowns.
  • Adopt tools when useful, while keeping final output polished and human.

  • You understand hook design, pacing, rhythm and retention mechanics across social formats.
  • You are fast, organized, and steady under pressure, and you can run multiple projects at once.
  • You actively consume social media and can explain why something worked, not just that it worked.
  • You communicate clearly, take feedback well and collaborate with speed and low friction.
  • You care about craft, but you care even more about impact.
