Lead Software Architect, LearnWith.AI (Remote)

Base pay range

$ / hr – $ / hr (equivalent to $200,000 / year at 40 hrs / week for 50 weeks).

Responsibilities

• Scale platforms that serve thousands of students and teams: TimeBack, Incept, and Crossover.
• Take ownership of one platform and implement complex components with a lean team of 3–5 experienced engineers (no junior developers).
• Define architectural choices and patterns that enable rapid application development and seamless integration across the organization.
• Design, build, and operate solutions, setting quality standards and engineering patterns.
• Drive technical decisions, champion emerging AI workflows, and develop high-impact playbooks.
• Validate team adherence to established patterns and quality benchmarks.
• Implement mission-critical components of the codebase.

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Act as an architect who does not write code.
• Spend excessive time in meetings.
• Manage people – the role focuses on technical leadership, not personnel management.
• Maintain legacy systems or handle internal IT infrastructure.

Basic Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience creating software products.
• Minimum 3 years in a lead engineer or architect role (conducting code reviews or driving key technical decisions).
• Proven experience developing platform-level products with APIs consumed by other teams.
• Active and deep engagement with AI tools, consistently experimenting and exploring new capabilities.
