Purpose of the Position

To ensure the stability, continuity and controlled evolution of core business systems within a global corporate and investment banking environment , operating at the intersection of mission-critical legacy platforms and ongoing modernization initiatives.

The role exists to sustain daily banking operations by taking strong ownership of application support beyond incident resolution, developing a deep understanding of business processes, and acting as a bridge between technology, business users, infrastructure teams, vendors and leadership .

In a highly regulated, high-availability financial environment , the position ensures that systems remain reliable, compliant and resilient , while progressively enabling technological modernization without compromising operational stability or risk posture .

Concretely, the role will :
  • Ensure Operational Stability of Core Banking Systems – Safeguard the stability, availability and reliability of mission-critical banking applications, strengthening support capabilities, reducing operational risk and enabling fast, effective response to high-severity incidents.
  • Sustain Legacy Platforms While Enabling Modernization – Operate within a hybrid environment, sustaining legacy platforms (.Net, VB6, SQL, Oracle) while supporting controlled modernization initiatives (e.g., Docker, Kafka ), ensuring evolution without disrupting business continuity.
  • Strengthen Incident Resolution and Technical Ownership – Elevate the organization beyond reactive support by driving technical ownership, structured root-cause analysis and long-term solutions, reducing recurring incidents and increasing support maturity.
  • Improve Business, User and Vendor Interaction – Act as a technical bridge between business areas, infrastructure and third-party vendors, translating needs into actionable technical outcomes and ensuring effective vendor governance.
The Candidate
Main Challenges and Assignments
  • Navigate a hybrid legacy and modernization environment , supporting systems built on VB6, ASP, .Net, C#, SQL, MongoDB and Oracle , while contributing to modernization initiatives using Docker, Kafka and related technologies.
  • Operate in an incident-driven environment , requiring fast triage, structured root-cause investigation and effective prioritization under constant demand.
  • Develop a deep understanding of critical business processes spanning multiple core systems, including vendor-based packaged solutions.
  • Balance operational continuity with continuous improvement , identifying opportunities for optimization and supporting modernization despite workload pressure.
  • Manage constant interaction with business users, infrastructure, N1 support teams, vendors and cross-functional stakeholders , requiring strong communication and expectation management.
  • Maintain documentation discipline in a low-structured environment, ensuring clarity, traceability and operational transparency.
  • Operate with high autonomy and ownership , with limited oversight and no micromanagement, requiring self-direction from day one.
  • Navigate a complex support ecosystem where collaboration across internal and external teams is essential to incident resolution and operational continuity.
Experience and Professional Qualifications
  • Strong hands-on experience in application development and troubleshooting , with solid execution capability in VB6, .Net or C# , and strong command of SQL and / or Oracle databases .
  • Experience with system integrations using REST APIs, Web Services, Message Queues, Kafka and JSON .
  • Solid background in application support, incident analysis and vendor interaction within complex environments.
  • Proven ability to lead technical topics and orchestrate stakeholders , focusing on technical depth and operational excellence rather than people management.
  • Strategic mindset toward incident prevention and continuous improvement .
  • Advanced English proficiency to interact with global stakeholders and corporate standards .
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related fields .
  • Exposure to infrastructure fundamentals, COBOL, mainframe, Docker, cloud, RPA, MongoDB or Agile / Scrum is a plus.
  • Experience with banking systems or packaged banking solutions is a strong differential.
