Purpose of the job
Responsible for the operational performance of imports and exports shipments ensuring compliance execution following SRA and Trade Compliance guidance to support supply of raw materials or finished goods to own DCs or our affiliates.
Overview
This position supports the business profitability through managing customs, 3PLs, international transportation and freight forwarders.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily follow up of assigned import and export shipments supported by nominated freight forwarders, customs broker, or carriers from and to ports, airports or cross borders.
- Integrate operation's reports and Glosa to identify potential liabilities.
- Shipments reporting including invoicing and international traffic KPI's.
- Analyze monthly KPIs from inland, international forwarders and Customs brokers to ensure targets (based on MGS alignments) are being achieved and prepare action plans if required.
- Support weekly service presentations for internal customers to provide insights about service levels.
- Identify, escalation, and participate on solving daily operational issues which could potentially affect service levels of assigned customers or affiliates.
- Review and register for payment all invoices of providers related to imports and exports which comply with agreed terms through MGS.
- Dispute if necessary.
- Request corresponding down payments whenever needed for business continuity and for customs brokers.
- Request, support, and keep track of all needed documentation related to import & export shipments including and not limiting to health certificates, origin certificates, import / export declarations, commercial documents, etc.
- Issue financial controls to support financial tasks by providing costs information on a shipment level.
- Further analysis may be requested and if needed needs to be aligned previously with LM.
- Ensure compliance with all import / export regulations for the organization (classification, valuation, quantity, origin declaration and Free Trade Agreement eligibility, monitoring documentation).
Qualifications
- Minimum scholarity: BA in International Business, International Trade, Business, Logistics.
- Experience needed for the role: Minimum 3 years of experience working in international trade operations, handling ocean, road or air operation.
- Ideally use of SAP.

- Knowledge or Certifications: Customs operations.
- International shipments related documentation such as commercial documents, certificates of origin, bill of ladings, health certificates, import or export declarations, etc.
- Nomination and control for international transportation: bookings, shipping instructions, bill of ladings creation and audits.
- Process follow up.
- Root cause analysis and solving process methodology.
- Desirable knowledge in SAP.
- Desirable knowledge on applicable trade, customs and sanitary regulations - not mandatory.
