Overview
We are seeking a Head of Government Affairs to join our team in Brazil. You will lead our Public Affairs & Government Relations department, focusing on institutional relations, stakeholder engagement, public policy monitoring, and strategic advocacy to support our business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government authorities, regulatory agencies, industry associations, and other key stakeholders at federal, state, and municipal levels.
- Monitor legislative, regulatory, and public policy developments that may impact the company's business and provide regular updates and analysis to internal teams.
- Develop and implement advocacy strategies and action plans to address key regulatory and policy priorities.
- Represent the company in industry forums, public hearings, and institutional meetings, positioning our interests effectively and transparently.
- Coordinate with internal departments (Legal, Compliance, Regulatory, Operations) to ensure alignment on public affairs strategy and policy positions.
- Draft position papers, policy briefs, and communication materials for internal and external audiences.
- Support crisis management efforts involving public authorities or policy issues impacting the company.
- Contribute to the company's ESG and corporate social responsibility initiatives, ensuring alignment with public policy trends and stakeholder expectations.
- Organize events, roundtables, and institutional visits to strengthen relationships with strategic stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law, International Relations, Political Science, Public Administration, or related field; postgraduate degree in Public Policy, Government Relations, or Regulatory Affairs is a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in government relations, institutional affairs, or public policy in regulated sectors (healthcare experience is a strong advantage).
- Solid understanding of the Brazilian legislative process, public policy environment, and key governmental institutions.
- Experience in developing and executing advocacy campaigns and stakeholder engagement plans.
- Strong analytical skills to monitor and interpret legislative and regulatory developments impacting the business.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
- Strategic mindset with problem-solving orientation and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Advanced or fluent English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
- Familiarity with compliance requirements and ethical standards in interactions with public officials.
