Summary

A Finance Assistant is a professional who oversees keeping track of an organization's finances.

This position involves an extremely high level of transactional activity with communication as follows :

  • Finance Manager - daily / frequent interaction to coordinate with accounting regarding cash forecasting, treasury management, resolving issues that may have taken place that impact the general ledger, etc.
  • Operations - regular communication with to identify internal needs for goods and services that need to be procured, along with frequent updates on quality of goods and services being provided by the incumbent vendors

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Update financial spreadsheets with daily transactions.
  • Prepare balance sheets.
  • Track and reconcile bank statements.
  • Create cost analysis reports (fixed and variable costs)
  • Process tax payments
  • Keep organized records.
  • Record accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Process invoices and follow up with clients, suppliers and partners as needed.
  • Provide administrative support during budget preparation.
  • Participate in quarterly and annual audits.
  • Processing and preparing financial statements.
  • Overseeing client accounts.
  • Creating, sending, and following up on invoices.
  • Collecting and reviewing data for reports.
  • Reporting discrepancies.
  • Suggesting improvements in accuracy, efficiency, and reducing costs.
Education and Experience
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • At least 2 years' experience in accounting or financial operations roles.
  • Analytical, problem solver, self-starter, excellent communication, strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to communicate and relate to all levels of the organization verbally and written form.
