About the Team

The NV Retail Team plays a critical role in scaling DoorDash’s shopping experience for retail customers. We are iOS, Android, web, and backend engineers working with cross‑functional partners on retail categories like Apparel, Electronics, Beauty, Pets, and many others, iterating and expanding on top of DoorDash’s platform.

The team focuses on building features on the shopping surfaces for customers to browse, explore, and see details of retail products, giving users the right level of information they need to make the decision of purchasing an item on the platform. We want to build the best shopping experience that is tailored for each of the categories we sell, while still defining standards across the app for how we merchandise those items.

About the Role

As the Engineering Manager, you will oversee a talented group of engineers, collaborating closely with product managers, operation and other cross‑functional partners. Your primary responsibility will be driving the successful execution of our product roadmap, ensuring the timely delivery of high‑quality solutions that meet both customer needs and business objectives. You will be key in fostering a collaborative and cross‑functional work environment and promoting effective communication and synergy amongst team members. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills who can balance technical excellence with business priorities.

• Manage, support, and grow a team of product/full‑stack engineers in owning the expansion and shopping experience for multiple Retail Categories
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Business leaders, and key stakeholders to determine the team's roadmap and vision, and manage execution against that roadmap.

• BS, M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field
• 2+ years of experience in people management leading backend teams of 5+ engineers
• 7+ years of industry experience
• Experience working with remote teams in different time zone(s) and fluency in English
• Extensive experience as an engineer in a fast‑paced, product‑focused development environment
• Experience with distributed system design, system scaling, and performance optimization
• Hands‑on leadership and strong product intuition
• Experience in building web and/or mobile applications that are used by many users
