The General Manager/Director, oversees sales operations within Sciex in the eastern Latin America markets, focusing on revenue growth. This role involves managing a sales team, developing market strategies, building customer relationships, and meeting sales targets while complying with local and regional regulations. Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills are required, along with a deep understanding of the regional business landscape.

Reporting to the Vice President & General Manager, Americas, this position is part of the Commercial Team located in São Paulo, Brazil, and will be on-site.

In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to:

  • Create and execute comprehensive sales strategies that align with overall company goals, identify market opportunities, and analyze the competitive landscape within the regional markets.
  • Manage and motivate a team of sales representatives by setting clear expectations, coaching on advanced sales techniques, and providing ongoing performance feedback, ensuring optimal team performance.
  • Build and nurture strong client relationships by understanding their needs and proactively addressing their concerns, guaranteeing customer retention and satisfaction.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the direct and indirect markets by generating leads and actively engaging potential new customers.
  • Accurately forecast sales performance and monitor key metrics, providing regular reports to senior management on sales activities and results.
  • Negotiate deals with customers to ensure profitable pricing strategies and manage complex sales cycles effectively.
  • Stay informed about market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product development, and other departments to ensure alignment and support commercial initiatives.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Portuguese and English are essential for effective interaction with clients and team members across the greater American regions.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading sales teams, exceeding sales targets, and coaching sales representatives to achieve optimal performance.
  • Deep knowledge of the Latin America business landscape and life sciences industry, including key industries, customer segments, and competitive dynamics.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain robust customer relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively with customers to close deals and achieve favorable terms.
  • Inspirational leadership skills to foster a positive work environment, promote collaboration, and motivate the team.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, both domestically and internationally, including overnight stays.
  • Possess or can obtain a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Intermediate or advanced Spanish communication.
