What will you do?

VFS Brazil is formed by 4 legal entities (Bank, Consorcio, Insurance Brokerage, and Rental) and is seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Control Director to join our leadership team.

You will report directly to the VP Finance Latin America and be based in Curitiba, Brazil.

As Financial Control Director, you will lead financial and regulatory compliance across four legal entities (Bank, Consorcio, Insurance Brokerage, and Rental).

Your role will ensure financial accuracy, optimize cash flow, and strengthen financial controls—while inspiring and developing a high-performing team.

This position takes full responsibility for accounting and record keeping of the entities, cash flow management, tax calculations and reporting, external and regulatory audits and human resources management.

Your key responsibilities include
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Oversee month-end and semi-annual close processes, maintaining financial integrity.
  • Strengthen financial control, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
  • Manage and comply with local and international tax reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Collaborate with external auditors, tax authorities and the Brazilian Central Bank to ensure successful reviews results and compliance.
  • Prepare and execute the cash flow forecast of the companies.
  • Oversee the accounts payable and expenses control functions.
  • Develop, implement and improve internal financial control policies, systems and processes.
  • Optimize accounting operations, including the design and implementation of scalable systems and processes to support the company's growth.
  • Lead and develop the team to enhance performance, through mentoring, training, and recruitment.
What will you bring?
  • Certified Accountant (CRC active registration required) with in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements, preferably in the Financial Services industry.
  • Proven managerial experience, with a track record of leading and developing high-performing financial teams.
  • Proven experience in implementing and improving finance systems and processes.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to track and interpret financial data across the organization.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, capable of managing multiple deliverables and competing priorities.
  • Experience collaborating with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ability to lead under pressure, maintaining a calm and solution-oriented approach to tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving, organization, and time management skills to drive efficiency and compliance.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and develop teams.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential, with Spanish language skills considered an asset.
