Teacher teams across multiple disciplines design learning experiences together for a whole grade level. Language Immersion

Avenues students will graduate fluent in a second language and at ease beyond their borders. To this end in grades N-1 students will be in a full English immersion program and from grades 2-5 Portuguese will take on a prominent place in the classroom.

As an Avenues Associate Teacher you will :

• Support lead teachers to develop and teach curriculum across multiple subjects that engages all learners in meaningful challenging work that cultivates 21st-century skills
• Help ensure that all students achieve key learning outcomes for the grade level targeting instruction thoughtfully to address individual needs
• Build a robust learning atmosphere that leads students to value being at school and feel part of a rigorous but joyful learning community
• Collaborate intensively and daily with colleagues to continually improve student learning and school culture
• Participate actively in ongoing intensive professional learning

Qualifications :

• Student teaching, teacher training or equivalent experience with children ages 3-8
• Deep dedication to learning and developing the craft of teaching
• Highly effective collaborator eager to listen deeply and contribute to a team and achieve goals together
• Very resourceful and adaptive eager to embrace constant change, growth and learning
• Bachelors degree required, masters degree preferred
