Architecture & Engineering Manager

Location: São Paulo, São Paulo, BRA

This role leads the Architecture & Engineering organization responsible for shaping the technology landscape across Brazil and Latin America.

You will enable secure, scalable, and cloud‑driven platforms that support business strategy, accelerate digital transformation, and drive modernization across enterprise systems — including AWS, GCP, SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, Salesforce and integration platforms.

Lead a multidisciplinary team of Architects, Cloud Engineers, DevOps, and Platform Engineers to define enterprise architecture standards, deliver reference architectures, improve engineering practices, and implement platform engineering capabilities that empower squads with self‑service, automation, and continuous delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead a high‑performing Architecture & Engineering team, promoting collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
  • Define and evolve the Enterprise Architecture & DevSecOps strategy, ensuring alignment with business outcomes and global IT roadmaps.
  • Support multiple value streams across the enterprise and oversee the overall architecture strategy.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, influencing priorities, investments, and technology adoption decisions.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint, document solution architecture design and analysis work.
  • Lead the Architecture Review Board (ARB), ensuring architectural compliance, security controls, and use of reference patterns.
  • Own and mature Application Portfolio Management (APM) to support rationalization, modernization, and cost optimization decisions.
  • Guide modernization journeys across cloud, data, API integration, and enterprise applications.
  • Monitor the current‑state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies and support end‑of‑life product decisions.
  • Understand emerging technology trends and disruptions and their practical application to enable new and evolving business and operating models.
  • Facilitate the evaluation, selection, and TCO of software product standards and services, and the design of standard and custom software configurations.
  • Define principles, guidelines, standards, and solution patterns to ensure solution decisions align with the enterprise’s future‑state architecture vision.
  • Establish and maintain AWS and GCP reference architectures covering networking, identity, security guardrails, container orchestration, serverless architectures, and observability.
  • Drive adoption of Infrastructure‑as‑Code using Terraform and Ansible to ensure consistent, automated, and secure provisioning.
  • Scale Platform Engineering capabilities to enable developer self‑service environments, automated infrastructure, and secure‑by‑design patterns.
  • Establish and evolve CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, quality gates, and shift‑left security using Bitbucket Pipelines, SonarCloud, and Veracode.
  • Mature monitoring and SRE practices to improve reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Architecture, Engineering, or Technology leadership roles.
  • Hands‑on experience designing solutions on AWS and/or GCP cloud platforms.
  • Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, platforms and processing environments.
  • Practical experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps.
  • Good understanding of strategic and emerging technology trends and their practical application.
  • Understanding of product management, agile principles, and development methodologies; ability to support agile teams by providing advice on opportunities, impact, and risks.
  • Experience developing architecture blueprints, strategies, and roadmaps.
  • Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
Preferred Skills and Experiences
  • Ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Skilled at understanding both long‑term and short‑term perspectives.
  • Proficient at translating future‑state business capabilities and requirements into solution architecture requirements.
  • Experience implementing Platform Engineering / Self‑Service Developer Platforms.
  • Experience leading Application Rationalization and modernization initiatives.
  • Familiarity with API Management platforms (Apigee, WSO2) and event‑driven / microservices architectures.
  • Certifications such as AWS, GCP, TOGAF, DevOps, or SAP Cloud.
  • Experience in multi‑country or global matrix environments.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to solve business problems creatively and analytically.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to lead cross‑functional teams.
  • English Advanced level; Spanish is a plus.
