Description

Based in São Paulo, you will be a senior member of the Brazilian analytical team at Aurora, delivering cutting‑edge advisory services for clients across the energy transition.

You will manage junior colleagues in developing insights to help clients make better strategic and investment choices.

You will support all aspects of client engagement: helping identify issues, forming hypotheses, conducting analysis, synthesising conclusions into recommendations and presenting to key decision‑makers in industry.

You will develop data‑based strategic insights into the energy transition for both public and private sector clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading advisory projects for our clients, across a diverse range of energy transition technologies, business models and strategies, including planning out the work of the team and ensuring we maintain rigorous standards of analysis and clear communication of insights
• Line management of junior analysts in the team to help them develop and coaching / managing analysts within a project.
• Supporting business development work, for example by contributing delivery plans to our proposals.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required attributes

• At least three years of experience at a major consultancy, energy company, financial services company, or other knowledge‑focused firm or institution
• First class or high second‑class university degree
• Demonstrated success in taking responsibility for project and process management in team‑oriented environments
• Proven ability to interpret and derive insight from complex quantitative data and information
• Ability to communicate clearly and co‑operate effectively with both technically and non‑technically minded people
• Self‑starting, entrepreneurial mind‑set, and desire to grow the business.
• Proficiency in English (C1 level)
• Written and spoken fluency in Portuguese (C2 level)

Desirable attributes

• Previous experience of working on business consulting or energy‑related projects or policy - particularly in a Brazilian context
• Leadership, management or mentoring experience demonstrated by previous roles of professional responsibility or extracurricular activities
• Demonstrated success in working together with clients
• Competence in advanced data analytics (e.g. Python, R, Matlab, Advanced Excel)
• Strong academic record, such as a Master's degree or PhD in a relevant discipline
