Job Title: Accounting Manager
Base Location: Sao Paulo
Position Overview
The Accounting Manager will be the primary leader responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of all accounting and financial reporting activities of Bajaj do Brasil. This position is legally responsible for signing the statutory financial statements (Balance Patrimonial) of a large‑sized entity , ensuring full adherence to Brazilian GAAP, IFRS, tax regulations, and corporate governance standards.
This role requires strong technical accounting expertise, people leadership, hands‑on execution capability, and the ability to operate in a complex multi‑branch industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Statements & Reporting
- Prepare, review, and legally sign the annual statutory financial statements (Balance, DRE, DFC, DMPL, explanatory notes).
- Ensure compliance with CPCs / IFRS and BR GAAP.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process, guaranteeing accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
- Prepare management reports and financial analysis supporting local and global leadership.
2. Accounting Operations
Responsible for the full accounting cycle of all 4 branches, including:
General Accounting
- Full bookkeeping and classification of accounting entries.
- Review and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
- Monthly accruals and provisions (expenses, taxes, contingencies, inventory, etc.).
- Fixed assets management: asset capitalization, depreciation, impairment analysis, and deferred taxes.
- Leasing accounting (CPC 06 / IFRS 16).
- Intercompany accounting and reconciliation with India HQ.
- Amortization of intangible assets.
- Monitoring and updating chart of accounts.
Compliance & Obligations
Responsible for all accounting statutory obligations, including:
- ECD – Escrituração Contábil Digital
- ECF – Escrituração Contábil Fiscal
- DIRF / e‑Social (relevant to accounting)
- Reinf (accounting impacts)
- SPED Contábil
- Preparation of explanatory notes and supporting documents for legal filings.
- IRPJ / CSLL calculations and transfer pricing.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and corporate compliance policies.
3. Inventory, Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Controls
- Oversee cost accounting for the Manaus motorcycle factory and parts warehouse.
- Validate standard costs, cost roll‑ups, PPV, and BOM accuracy.
- Support monthly inventory valuation and COGS recognition.
- Lead annual and periodic inventory counts, cycle counts, reconciliation of differences, and adjustments.
- Ensure correct accounting of CKD kits, spare parts, WIP, and finished goods.
4. Audit & Internal Controls
- Lead the annual external audit—planning, schedules, responses, documentation, walkthroughs, and closing.
- Support internal audit and IFC (Internal Financial Controls) testing.
- Maintain and improve accounting internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Mitigate financial risks through robust documentation and compliance.
5. Team Leadership & Cross‑Functional Interaction
- Manage, mentor, and develop the Accounting Analyst (SP) and Cost Coordinator (Manaus).
- Work closely with Tax, FP&A, Treasury, HR, Logistics, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality teams.
- India HQ finance team for alignment of global standards.
- Promote a culture of accuracy, discipline, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (mandatory).
- CRC active and in good standing (mandatory for signing financial statements).
- Post‑graduate or MBA preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of IFRS / CPC, BR GAAP and SPED obligations.
- Solid experience with manufacturing accounting and inventory.
- Experience with external audits (Big Four experience is a plus).
- Advanced Excel: experience with ERP (TOTVS / Proteus strongly preferred).
- Experience in companies with revenues above BRL 300 M is highly desirable.
Experience
- Minimum 7–10 years in accounting, including leadership roles.
- Prior experience signing or preparing statutory financial statements.
- Experience in industrial, distribution, or multinational environments.
