Role Overview
The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for overseeing all warehouse activities to ensure the efficient handling, storage, and dispatch of flour and raw materials. The role requires a strong balance of operational control, team leadership, and compliance with food safety standards, while driving cost efficiency and supporting production and distribution targets.
Main Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
- Supervise the full warehouse process including receiving, storage, picking, packing, inventory control, and dispatch.
- Coordinate closely with production and distribution teams to align supply with manufacturing and delivery schedules.
- Establish and continuously refine standard processes to boost efficiency and accuracy.
- Plan warehouse layouts to maximize storage space and improve workflow.
Stock & Inventory Management
- Maintain up-to-date stock records and ensure regular stock counts and reconciliations are carried out.
- Control inventory levels to ensure raw materials and finished goods are available without excessive stock build-up.
- Work with the procurement team to plan reorders in line with sales demand and production needs.
- Use Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) for tracking, reporting, and analysis of stock movements.
Team Leadership
- Lead and manage warehouse staff including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance reviews.
- Define team objectives and performance indicators to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Promote a culture of discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure the warehouse meets all workplace health, safety, and food safety requirements.
- Carry out inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Train team members on safe handling, hygiene, and compliance standards (HACCP, GMP, etc.).
Logistics & Dispatch
- Coordinate with transport partners to arrange on-time and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Optimize transport planning and dispatch schedules to minimize delays and reduce costs.
- Resolve any delivery issues in coordination with sales and logistics teams.
Cost Control & Budgeting
- Monitor and manage warehouse expenses to ensure budget adherence.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality and safety.
Technology & Systems
- Maximize the use of WMS and ERP tools (e.g., SAP B1) for inventory visibility and reporting.
- Recommend and implement new technologies to further improve warehouse operations.
Candidate Profile
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
- Experience: 10–15 years of warehouse leadership experience, ideally within flour mills, food manufacturing, or a related industry.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of WMS, ERP systems (SAP B1), and MS Office.
- Leadership Skills: Strong people management skills, with proven ability to train and motivate diverse teams.
- Organizational Ability: Excellent planning, multitasking, and process optimization skills.
- Decision-Making: Capable of solving problems quickly and effectively under pressure.
- Communication: Clear written and verbal communication, able to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
