Job description
Responsibilities
  • Greet and seat guests as they enter the restaurant.
  • Present menus, answer questions about menu items, and offer recommendations.
  • Take accurate food and drink orders using a POS system (Micros).
  • Communicate with the kitchen about the orders and be very clear about special wishes of guests.
  • Ensure timely delivery of meals and drinks.
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with their meal and provide additional assistance as needed.
  • Process payments, issue receipts, and handle cash or card transactions.
  • Keep tables clean and ensure the dining area is tidy at all times.
  • Follow all health & safety, food safety and hygiene regulations and hotel procedures.
  • Keep track of the stock and supplies in the restaurant and communicate where there might be a shortage such as linen, glassware, etc.
  • Support opening and closure procedures.
  • Takes reservations, in cooperation with the supervisor and hostess/host, if necessary, because of special requests of the guest.
  • Monitor operating supplies, equipment and reduce spoilage and wastage successfully.
  • Ensure that Food and Beverage orders are of a consistently good standard and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Any other reasonable duties assigned by hotel management.
