The Role

Role responsibilities include promoting efficiency, confidence, courtesy and an extremely high standard of social skills; fostering good inter-departmental relations; maintaining a pleasant manner and positive attitude; representing the hotel with a high level of commitment; assisting the Assistant Manager as needed; getting to know guests and committing to service excellence; providing sincere, warm and enthusiastic service to ensure guest satisfaction.

Key Deliverables and Responsibilities

Planning & Organizing:

  • Hands-on work towards the timely setup of the assigned Food & Beverage outlet, according to meal settings and opening hours.
  • Contribute to meet/maximize the monthly revenue budget for the outlet and understand how to control operational expenses.

Operations:

  • Attend regular training sessions aligned with departmental policies and procedures (guest care, product knowledge, grooming standards, up-selling, etc.).
  • Work according to the Supervisor’s instructions and duty shifts (basic cleaning, polishing equipment, table setting, collecting materials from other departments, etc.).
  • Communicate directly with guests (present menus, make recommendations, take orders, handle payments).
  • Ensure proper appearance and grooming while on duty.
  • Handle guest greeting and seating through the hostess; ensure the entrance is never unattended.
  • Promote and sell Shisha products for maximum sales; responsible for making and serving Shisha and maintaining guest satisfaction.
  • Take orders and recommend menu items; maintain a professional, friendly, yet discreet relationship with patrons.
  • Familiarize yourself with all menus, promotions and other relevant outlet information (product knowledge).
  • Report cleanliness and maintenance issues to the immediate Supervisor; handle guest complaints as instructed or escalate to the Supervisor.
  • Perform mise-en-place for the service day; report equipment failures to Maintenance; participate in training/development schemes; attend departmental briefings to support open communication.
  • Treat guests and colleagues courteously; observe high personal hygiene standards; keep side stations clean and organized; anticipate customer needs.
  • Be flexible in assisting around different areas of the hotel; adhere to Accor policies on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety; follow the Operational Standards Manual for the department.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Administration
  • Collaborate with the hostess to ensure name tags are complete and in the correct position.
  • Ensure business cards and databases are handed over to the hostess; ensure all bills are handed to the cashier and items are charged accordingly in the Micros system.
Generic Aspects on Hygiene / Personal Safety / Environment / Confidentiality
  • Care for equipment and furniture entrusted for Heartists use; be familiar with hotel policies and emergency procedures (fire, medical, bomb threat, blackout and evacuation).
  • Know safety regulations and ensure their application to protect people and property.
  • Respect the hotel's Environment Charter and sustainability practices (save energy, recycling, waste sorting).
  • Adhere to the Heartists Handbook and hotel policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety; safeguard confidential records and information; do not disclose financial information or other confidential information about Accor Hotels.
Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management.
