Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Travel Agency Manager to lead and drive the growth of our travel agency branch. This role will focus on providing guidance and support to the team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing operational efficiency and working closely with the finance business partner.

Key Responsibilities:
Operations Oversight & Team Guidance
  • Oversee the daily operations of the branch, ensuring smooth functioning and alignment with business goals.
  • Work closely with the Operations Supervisor to support the ground handling agents, ticketing agents, and operations executive.
  • Ensure all staff is properly supported, trained, and equipped to handle dedicated key accounts and operational duties.
  • Supervise operational procedures and ensure compliance with internal policies and local travel regulations.
  • Guide and support the Operations Supervisor in managing staff schedules, attendance, and leave planning.
Invoicing & Collections Accountability
  • Oversee the invoicing process and ensure timely collection via the department admin.
  • Work with the operations team to ensure accurate billing, maintaining financial accuracy and transparency.
  • Monitor accounts receivable to ensure all payments are collected on time, liaising with the finance team for seamless operations.
Staff Leadership & Development
  • Lead and mentor the team, providing training, support, and coaching to ensure continuous development and performance improvement.
  • Foster a collaborative and motivated work culture, encouraging teamwork and personal growth.
  • Conduct performance reviews and create individual development plans to help staff reach their potential.
  • Organize regular product training and educational opportunities for team members.
Financial Management & Profitability
  • Monitor branch budgets, expenses, and profitability, ensuring efficient use of resources while maintaining high service standards.
  • Oversee invoicing and payment authorizations, ensuring timely financial reporting and reconciliation.
  • Track daily sales, manage revenue, and work with accounting teams to ensure financial accuracy.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Travel & Tourism, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., IATA, UFTAA, GDS training) are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4–6 years in the travel industry, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role, focusing on client acquisition, account management, and sales growth.
  • Must have managed a travel agency or a specific branch separately—this is a critical requirement for the role.
  • Proven success in sales, team management, and building strong client relationships.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in GDS systems (Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre) and travel software.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Financial acumen, including budget management and profitability analysis.
  • Ability to drive scaling of core products and develop new product portfolios.
  • Multilingual abilities are an advantage.
