Position Overview:
The Transport Manager will oversee all transportation operations within the company, ensuring the efficient and safe movement of the heavy machinery and materials across all UAE branches. This role involves managing logistics, optimizing transport routes, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Transportation Operations Management:
- Oversee daily transportation activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of heavy machinery and materials.
- Develop and implement transportation policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Monitor transport schedules and adjust as necessary to meet operational needs.
Fleet Management:
- Manage the company’s fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are well-maintained, compliant with regulations, and equipped for safe operations.
- Implement and oversee a preventive maintenance program for all vehicles to minimize downtime.
- Evaluate and recommend vehicle purchases or upgrades based on operational needs.
Logistics Coordination:
- Collaborate with fabrication and workshop teams to coordinate transportation for materials and finished products.
- Optimize transport routes and schedules to reduce costs and improve delivery times.
- Ensure proper documentation and tracking of all shipments and deliveries.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training for transport staff to promote a culture of safety.
- Investigate and resolve any transportation-related incidents or issues promptly.
Budget Management:
- Prepare and manage the transport budget, ensuring adherence to financial targets and cost controls.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities in transportation operations and implement strategies to achieve them.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage the transportation team, providing guidance and support to enhance performance and professional development.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement training programs as needed.
Vendor and Supplier Management:
- Evaluate and manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and transport vendors.
- Negotiate contracts and rates with service providers to ensure competitive pricing and quality service.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare regular reports on transportation performance, costs, and operational metrics for senior management.
- Analyze data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven minimum 7 years of experience in transportation or logistics management, preferably in the heavy machinery or manufacturing sector.
- Strong understanding of transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Arabic Native or bilingual , English fluent .
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Proficient in logistics management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
