Job summary

A technical services provider in the United Arab Emirates is looking for a Technician specializing in UPS and generators. The successful candidate will manage and maintain critical electrical systems, ensuring operational efficacy and compliance with IEEE standards. Required qualifications include a minimum of 4 years' experience in relevant technical areas and proficiency with various testing tools. This contract position lasts for 6 months and is based in Fujairah with an estimated salary range of AED 3000-5000.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in UPS, DC, generators, LV panels, battery systems, and power distribution systems.
• Ability to operate and maintain critical systems including UPS and standby generators.
• Proficiency in conducting routine inspections and maintenance on battery systems.

Job description:

• Operate and maintain a wide range of critical systems, including UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supplies), DC Power Plants, Standby Generators, and LV (Low Voltage) Distribution Panels.
• Lead the Annual DC Plant & UPS Battery Load Testing (Discharge Testing) to verify capacity and ensure the systems meet IEEE standards.
• Conduct routine inspections, impedance testing, and maintenance of Battery Systems (VRLA/Flooded) to identify and replace failing cells proactively.
• Act as a first responder for any power-related alarms or system failures, performing root-cause analysis and restoring power safely.
• Proficiency with load banks, multi-meters, infrared thermal cameras, and battery impedance testers.
• Ability to maintain accurate maintenance logs, load test reports, and updated electrical one-line diagrams.
