Job summary

A leading aviation support company in the United Arab Emirates seeks an experienced Engineering & Quality professional. Responsibilities include providing on-site support for aircraft maintenance, implementing quality audit programs, and leading quality assurance activities. Job description

Responsible to provide Engineering & Quality on-site field support for the maintenance of designated aircraft type(s).

Engineering & Quality Related initiatives and Support
  1. Implement an AS 9110 compliant independent Quality Audit program, based on organizational risk and deliver the plan to agreed milestones.
  2. In collaboration with quality process owners, shape, design and ensure the effectiveness of the QMS and its alignment to Customer Statutory and Regulatory requirements.
  3. Provide the leadership and support to drive all Quality Assurance improvement activities that underpin CI activities.
  4. Conduct the Base MRoQ IAW AS 9110 requirements to include analysis of audit findings in order to identify areas of risk to the organization, opportunities for implementing improvement or best practice and ensure that resources are established to support the delivery of identified improvement plans.
  5. Compliance Mentoring All issues relating to Quality, Ground Safety and Occupational Health and the Environment.
  6. Create, manage and maintain a robust Safety Management System (SMS) through governance and policy to support the product and system and safety cases associated with ALHUR, that meets Customer, Statutory and Regulatory requirements.
  7. Coordinate, monitor and assist with the management and production of the ALHUR risk-based internal audit program IAW with company process and the requirements of AS 9110.
  8. In collaboration with quality process owners, shape, design and ensure the effectiveness of the QMS and its alignment to Customer Statutory and Regulatory requirements.
  9. Establish and champion a Just Culture within ALHUR to support an effective Safety Management System that will support the Company objectives and goals.
  10. Plan, define and develop QEHS goals to align with integrated business plan objectives and targets.
  11. Provide the leadership and support to all Quality Assurance improvement activities that underpin the CI activity.
  12. Act as the Point of Contact (POC) for Engineering & Quality Department for all technical (Engineering & Quality) queries originating at the Base related to the designated aircraft type.
  13. Maintain contact with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Planning, Programs and other departments for the technical activities requiring engineering input.
  14. Provide technical solutions by, but not limited to :
  • Consulting relevant technical documentation
  • Liaising and getting support from engineering reach‑back support sections
  • Communicating with the aircraft manufacturer (OEM) and its vendors
  • Designing a solution after gathering relevant details
  • Create Engineering Instructions to provide procedures for tasks not available in OEM publications.
  • Write Engineering Technical Report to inform management and the customer about important issues / defects / incident / events.
  • Provide technical (Engineering level) on-field support for I and O level maintenance issues.
  • Monitor critical issues affecting overall readiness, support‑ability and safety of the aircraft.
  • Communicate with the aircraft manufacturer (OEM) and its vendors for defect analysis, troubleshooting queries, suggestions and improvements.
  • Perform deferred defects case study.
  • Participate and support in troubleshooting complex issues.
  • Approve alternate P / N requests originating from Supply.
  • Compile, evaluate and present reliability issues affecting the aircraft.
  • Collect, transmit (to OEM) and / or analyse data retrieved from devices such as FDIMU, QAR, SHMS, VDR, HUMS etc.
  • Perform assessment of Technical Publications such as SBs, TCTOs, VSBs, ADs and other Publications; Define applicability and coordinate the embodiment.
  • Ensure Airworthiness of the aircraft by maintaining embodiment / modification database record and reporting back to the OEM.
  • Provide clarification / correct interpretation for technical documentation.
  • Check, review and download OEM reports / analysis from the OEM secure channel / network / portals like airbus world, ADS CSWP, livelink / exostar, aeromanagers, etc.
  • Review and recommend procedures and propose improvements to maintenance activities which require technical inputs.
  • Maintain liaison with the base manager, shop managers, OEM technical representatives etc. as necessary to insure specs, schedules, capabilities and limitations are properly understood.
  • Assist the ALHUR functional groups, i.e. business development in analyzing major programs / projects for future contracts.
  • Develop capability of tasks that can be performed in‑house.
  • Obsolescence tracking, monitor obsolete parts and provide recommendations for future support.

    Qualification

    Bachelor Degree in an Industrial, Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Avionics, Electrical / Electronic Engineering or related engineering discipline from a recognized university.

    Material, manufacturing, testing, project management knowledge is a definite plus.

    Experience

    Must have a minimum 10 years’ experience in the support functions preferably with the aviation applications.

    Ability to conduct technical discussions on the process, material planning engineering aspects with customers, OEMs and suppliers.

    Use of GSE and test sets is a plus

    Must have experience with technical disciplines, spread-sheets and data processing software.

    Must have experience on using OEM secured channel / network / portals (livelink / exostar, aeromanagers, etc.), must be cleared on obtaining access to the OEM secured channel / network / portals.
