Overview

Job Brief: We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Static Equipment Draftsman to join our engineering team. The candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed mechanical drawings and design documentation for static equipment, including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, and other non-rotating equipment. This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical drafting, proficiency in AutoCAD, and the ability to interpret and apply technical specifications and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 2D engineering drawings for static mechanical equipment based on design inputs from engineers.
• Create fabrication, layout, general arrangement (GA), and detail drawings in compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Interpret technical specifications, datasheets, and P&IDs to ensure accurate representation in drawings.
• Work closely with mechanical and design engineers to ensure drawings meet required technical and dimensional accuracy.
• Revise and update drawings in response to design changes or project feedback.
• Maintain proper version control and documentation of all drawings and related records.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, IS).
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as procurement and fabrication for drawing clarifications.
• Assist in the preparation of Bill of Materials (BOM) where required.
• Support the engineering team during client reviews, audits, and inspections as needed.
• Prepare drawing-related CRS in consultation with Design Engineer.
• Knowledge of structural drafting will be an added advantage.
• Coordinate with the drafting team at the Surat office, India.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 8–10 years of hands-on experience in mechanical drafting, specifically related to static equipment.
• Proficient in AutoCAD (2D essential; 3D is an advantage).
• Knowledge of design codes and standards relevant to pressure vessels and static equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering documents, such as technical drawings, datasheets, and P&IDs.
• Good understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with software such as PV Elite, SolidWorks, or Inventor.
• Familiarity with project documentation control systems.
• Prior experience in EPC or oil & gas industry projects.
