Role Overview
We are looking for a Social Media Executive with strong content creation and video production skills to build UpStars social presence across digital platforms. This role is hands‑on and execution‑driven, focused on producing high‑quality, engaging content that communicates UpStars vision, product value, and thought leadership.
Primary content channels will be LinkedIn and TikTok. All other social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, X, YouTube Shorts) should complement and amplify messaging from these core channels.
The ideal candidate is comfortable being both strategic and tactical, capable of ideating, producing, editing, and publishing content independently.
Key Responsibilities
Content & Social Media Management
- Own and execute content strategy primarily for LinkedIn and TikTok
- Repurpose and adapt core content for supporting platforms to ensure message consistency
- Plan and manage a content calendar aligned with brand, growth, and campaign goals
- Handle publishing, scheduling, and basic community engagement
Video Production (Core Requirement)
- Conceptualize, shoot, and edit short‑form videos for LinkedIn and TikTok
- Produce product explainers, founder‑led content, feature highlights, and educational clips
- Edit videos using tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar
- Add subtitles, transitions, basic motion graphics, and sound enhancements
- Optimize videos for platform‑specific formats, algorithms, and engagement patterns
Brand & Performance
- Maintain a consistent tone, visual identity, and narrative across all channels
- Track basic performance metrics (reach, engagement, watch time)
- Use insights from LinkedIn and TikTok to refine content direction and formats
Required Skills & Criteria
- Demonstrated ability to independently produce and edit video content
- Hands‑on experience with LinkedIn and TikTok content formats
- Strong understanding of short‑form storytelling, hooks, and trend adaptation
- Comfortable using smartphones, cameras, lighting, and basic audio setups
- Strong copywriting skills for captions, hooks, and short scripts
- Highly organized, self‑driven, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced startup environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with startups, SaaS, HRTech, or EdTech brands
- Basic motion graphics or animation skills
- Familiarity with social media analytics and performance tracking
