A garment manufacturing company is seeking a skilled Sewing Machine Operator to join their team in Sharjah. The ideal candidate will operate various types of sewing machines, ensuring precise stitching and quality in garment production. Responsibilities include adjusting machine settings, inspecting finished garments for defects, and meeting daily production targets. Previous experience in a textile factory is highly desirable. Operate various types of sewing machines (e.g., single-needle, overlock, flat-bed, or computerized machines) to sew different components of garments, such as sleeves, cuffs, waistbands, or zippers.
Set up sewing machines by selecting appropriate threads, needles, and other materials for the specific garment being produced.
Sew fabric pieces together to form finished garments, ensuring precise stitching, alignment, and uniformity according to design specifications.
Adjust stitch length, tension, and machine settings to ensure consistent stitch quality and product durability.
Follow patterns or templates to create the correct garment structure.
Inspect finished garments or parts for defects, such as missed stitches, uneven seams, or fabric damage, and correct any issues immediately.
Report any major machine malfunctions to supervisors for repair or replacement.
Meet daily production targets for the number of garments sewn, without sacrificing quality.
Ensure that work areas are clean and organized to prevent accidents.
Maintain records of production output
Minimum High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Previous experience as a sewing machine operator in a garment or textile factory is highly desirable.
Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines, including different types (e.g., straight stitch, overlock, serger, double needle).
Strong attention to detail and precision in sewing.
Ability to interpret and follow patterns, templates, and design instructions.
Basic troubleshooting skills to resolve minor machine problems.
Knowledge of fabric types and how they affect sewing machine settings and stitching.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
