Job description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Server Administrator to maintain upgrade and manage our servers and network infrastructures. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in server management system architecture security best practices and troubleshooting methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install configure and maintain Windows and/or Linux servers.

• Monitor server performance and ensure system availability and reliability.

• Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis; upgrade administrative tools and utilities.

• Perform system backups and recovery.

• Manage Active Directory DNS DHCP Group Policy and other server roles.

• Maintain system security through access controls firewalls and antivirus.

• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to servers.

• Document system configurations processes and procedures.

• Collaborate with network administrators and security teams to ensure high availability and secure infrastructure.

• Provide technical support and guidance to end users and junior IT staff.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

• 3 years of experience as a Server Administrator or similar role.

• Strong knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server Linux).

• Experience with virtualization (VMware Hyper-V).

• Familiarity with backup and recovery software and strategies.

• Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell Bash etc.).

• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant certifications (e.g. Microsoft Certified: Windows Server CompTIA Server Red Hat Certified System Administrator).

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS Azure or GCP).

• Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g. Nagios Zabbix SolarWinds).

• Knowledge of ITIL practices and ticketing systems.
