Role Objective
To develop the design coordination and engineering drawings of jobs by incorporating the contract specifications, client requirements and government regulations without compromising the constructability of these designs. To ensure the use of creative solutions in the design of jobs that reduce manpower requirements, cost and time.
Role Responsibilities
- Perform basic calculations and analysis to support engineering decisions;
- Maintain organized records and documentation for engineering projects;
- Develop and review detailed technical designs and specifications for construction projects;
- Conduct site visits to ensure adherence to design specifications and standards;
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues;
- Oversee and guide Jr. Technical Engineers and provide technical support as needed;
- Lead the development and validation of complex technical designs and solutions;
- Manage and coordinate engineering activities on multiple projects simultaneously;
- Perform advanced calculations and simulations to ensure design integrity;
- Act as a technical expert in meetings and presentations with clients and stakeholders;
- Provide technical leadership and direction to engineering teams;
- Facilitate the resolution of complex technical issues and provide innovative solutions;
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure integrated project delivery;
- Review and approve engineering designs, documentation, and reports;
- Coordination with BIM team for timely updating of model;
- Check and approve for the design prepared by third party and ensure its compatibility with all design disciplines (as applicable);
- Ensure the timely delivery of IFF / IFP "Issued for fabrication / production" drawings inline to deliverable log and project plan (as applicable);
- Lead the Shop drawings preparation and issuance of SFC drawings to site;
- Preparing bid package for material and sub-contractor (as applicable);
- Updating procurement team for any addendum required for bid package;
- Review material submittal & pre-qualification for Engineering aspects;
Educational Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- Bachelor of Science in a relevant field of Engineering
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in relevant role; preferably with experience in industrial projects
