General Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive Senior System & Network Administrator for our client, a reputable organization in the UAE. The ideal candidate must bring strong, hands‑on expertise in managing complex IT infrastructures, advanced network environments, cybersecurity tools, and enterprise‑level systems.
This role focuses heavily on network administration, firewall management, system security, server infrastructure, and high‑availability environments. You will play a critical part in ensuring the stability, resilience, and security of the organization’s IT landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Network & Infrastructure Management
- Design, manage, and optimize core IT network infrastructure including LAN/WAN, VLAN segmentation, Wi‑Fi networks, routing, and switching.
- Configure, administer, and troubleshoot SonicWall firewalls (SSL & Site‑to‑Site VPNs, NAT, content filtering, IPS/IDS).
- Perform network security hardening, performance tuning, firmware upgrades, and real‑time monitoring of traffic and devices.
- Implement, test, and maintain backup, failover, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
- Maintain comprehensive network documentation including IP addressing, topology diagrams, and configuration records.
- System Administration & Security
- Administer and support Windows Server environments (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO, file services).
- Manage NAS storage systems, ensuring optimized performance, high availability, and secure access.
- Oversee endpoint protection through Trend Micro Apex One, ensuring robust malware defense, policy enforcement, and compliance.
- Monitor, analyze, and enhance system and network security, proactively identifying risks and vulnerabilities.
- Support & IT Operations
- Provide advanced (Level 2/3) technical support for system, network, and security‑related issues.
- Handle service requests and incidents through an IT ticketing system, ensuring SLA compliance.
- Conduct IT asset management including hardware lifecycle, software licenses, and inventory control.
- Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and cross‑functional teams for IT upgrades, deployments, and projects.
- Lead and participate in infrastructure enhancement initiatives assigned by management.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 4–6 years of strong, hands‑on experience in system and network administration within enterprise environments.
- Deep expertise in:
- SonicWall firewalls & VPN technologies (SSL & Site‑to‑Site)
- Windows Server administration & domain services
- NAS storage systems and data access controls
- Trend Micro Apex One and Email Gateway security
- Networking protocols: TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching
- IT support operations and ticketing systems
- Preferred certifications: CCNA, Network+, MCSA, Security+, or equivalent industry credentials.
