This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Piping Designer to join our company in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role is full‑time residential based in Abu Dhabi.

Job Objectives
  • Contribute to engineering excellence by providing the link between engineering design theory and practical application, translating critical design concepts into workable plans for tangible end‑products.Prepare engineering drawings in the discipline area from rough sketches or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures.
  • Create designs and sketch out detailed plans for projects such as commercial, industrial, and civil sector structures and plant and/or manufactured products and systems.
  • Plan and carry out technical assignments of substantial variety and complexity. Capable of handling assignments which involve a variety of procedures and techniques.
  • Undertake technical assignments that are a significant part of an ongoing engineering program.
  • Prepare mechanical or digital drawings, diagrams or blueprints and/or models of various products or structures, using computer‑aided drafting (CAD) and/or computer‑aided design (CADD) software.
  • This role profile covers engineering designers of all discipline specialisms. Levels 1 to 6 are used to describe increasing levels of expertise and responsibility: refer to levelling guide.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
  • Develop working drawings, within company and industry standards and codes, from equipment specifications and detailed drawings to support completion of engineering deliverables.
  • Create drawings involving plans, layouts, calculations and bills of material.
  • Work on assignments involving a variety of design procedures and techniques.
  • Record observations, perform calculations and prepare reports on assignments.
  • Perform layouts, design and checking work from the basic data supplied.
  • Design and make detail drawings from rough sketches involving intricate calculations and the application of fundamental engineering principles.
  • Establish project drafting standards and monitor their conformance.
  • Identify cost‑effective solutions to design problems.
  • Assist in the preparation of bid evaluations.
  • Design and construct models, prototypes, processes or equipment; compile and evaluate data, make recommendations, prepare reports.
  • Prepare estimates of time, quantities, materials and labour required for activities related to testing, installation, manufacture, design or construction.
  • Generate bill of materials from finished designs.
  • At more experienced levels, may act as coordinator on small projects, prepare specifications for complex equipment, processes, etc.
  • Ensure quality in design, technical accuracy in the preparation of drawings, material quantities, etc., including reviewing others’ work at more senior levels.
  • Plan assigned work effectively and obtain/provide information liaising with the project team and line manager, in time to control man‑hours and achieve targets.
  • Carry out site visits / surveys and provide inputs to site visit reports.
Internal
  • Interface regularly with discipline engineers, project engineers, project management.
External
  • Unlikely to be required to interface with external parties.
Level of Influence & Decision‑Making Authority
  • Work under the general supervision of a senior engineer/design supervisor.
  • Have some autonomy to exercise judgment in application.
  • Work is checked and verified by more senior personnel.

Qualification
  • B.Sc. or equivalent degree in the Engineering discipline from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 10+ years relevant experience in major Brownfield and Greenfield oil & gas projects, including at least five (5) years in a similar position.
Knowledge, skills and experience
  • Specific experience in Oil and Gas projects across their lifecycle in the GCC region, preferred.
  • Pre‑FEED, FEED experience is required.
  • Detailed Engineering experience is preferred.
  • Experience in 2D and 3D is must.
