A leading offshore engineering company in Sharjah is seeking a Senior Naval Architect to support offshore oil and gas projects. The ideal candidate will have a BSc/BTech in Naval Architecture and 10-15 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include preparing design specifications, providing engineering support, and reviewing vendor documentation. Strong communication skills and proficiency in naval architectural software are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • 10–15 years of relevant experience in offshore oil & gas facilities and drilling rigs.
  • Background with major construction yards, EPC contractors, or engineering consultants.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare design specifications, reports, and technical documentation.
  • Perform technical evaluations and review vendor documentation.
  • Provide engineering support during fabrication, construction, and installation phases.
  • Support or lead load-out and float-off operations.

Job Title: Senior Naval Architect – Offshore Oil & Gas

Minimum Education

  • BSc/BTech Degree in Naval Architecture (mandatory)
  • MSc/MTech Degree in Naval Architecture or related discipline (preferred)

Minimum Experience

  • 10–15 years of relevant experience in offshore oil & gas facilities and drilling rigs
  • Background with major construction yards, EPC contractors, or engineering consultants

Technical Skills & Expertise

  • In-depth knowledge of classification rules and regulatory requirements, including: ABS, DNV, BV
  • SOLAS, IMO, Loadline, CAP 437
  • Hands-on experience with naval architectural software such as: MOSES, GHS, AutoHydro, Aveva Marine
  • Proven design experience in marine and offshore floating structures
  • Working knowledge of international codes and standards (e.g., API, ISO, etc.)

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Prepare design specifications, reports, and technical documentation
  • Perform technical evaluations and review vendor documentation
  • Provide engineering support during fabrication, construction, and installation phases
  • Support or lead load-out and float-off operations (experience in this area is desirable)
